🚨 New Update in Ohio ‘House of Horrors’ Case: Revelation About the Oldest Child Sparks Fresh Questions

Police have revealed shocking details about the children living in what has been dubbed the “Ohio house of horrors”, including the eldest, who was 18 years of age.

The oldest child reportedly had developmental disabilities, and Ohio Attorney-General Andy Wilson alleged: “The 18-year-old can’t spell their name.”

“They looked like almost feral animals,” he told reporters when describing the children. The kids were found in a property located in the Ohio town of Hamden last month, with conditions described as “terrible”.

The children’s parents, Elizabeth Siders, 33, and her husband, Gary Siders Jr., 36, and his parents, Gary Siders Sr., 73, and Christina Siders, 67, were all arrested on child endangerment charges.

Investigators say that none of the 16 children were enrolled in school. According to Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain, the children “can communicate, but it’s extremely limited and some not at all.”

The town of Hamden is said to have fewer than 1,000 residents, and neighbors have since described their shock at hearing the news about the children and the conditions they were allegedly living in. They also said there was no “sign of any child” living at the home.

One Hamden resident told WOWK 13 News, “My grandkids and my kids, we’ve all walked up and down that street; there’s never been a sign of any child. As a mother and a grandmother, I just don’t understand the logic.”

The children found at the property were likely to have had difficult lives, as their mother, Elizabeth Siders, was a child bride from the age of 15. Gary junior married Elizabeth Russell on March 31, 2008, when she was 15, and he was 18.

The pair married in Mason County, West Virginia, across the state line from Gallipolis, Ohio, where they were living. In 2008, marriage laws in Virginia allowed children under 18 to marry, provided they had permission from their parents and a judge.

Just a few months after their wedding, they had their first child, and Elizabeth’s education stopped at eighth grade, and Gary junior’s at ninth grade, News Nation reported.

According to multiple media organizations, Gary junior worked at DoorDash at some stage, but the timing is unclear.

Officials first discovered the children living in unsanitary conditions at the home after serving a search warrant at the residence in Hamden, Vinton County, related to a public indecency case involving Gary Siders Jr.

Wilson described the evidence in the case as “beyond comprehension.”

He revealed that upon arrival, officers discovered a scene that could have resulted in far worse consequences had it remained undetected for longer. During a press briefing, he added: “I think if they had waited another 24 hours, there was a very high probability that we’d be dealing with a death or multiple deaths of these children.”​

Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain, who described the scene facing officers as “disgusting”, remarked: “Most of our livestock was kept in better conditions than the children.”
