According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Goff was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
The Pioneer Woman star, 57, previously opened up about the decision to foster Goff in 2018.
“Fostering a kid was never something Ladd and I pursued or felt called to do, but Jamar’s circumstances presented themselves to us in a way we couldn’t ignore,” she wrote in her book, Frontier Follies. “Long story short, all six foot five inches of him showed up at our house one afternoon, bag in hand, ready to move in.”
Ree and husband Ladd also share daughters Alex, 29, and Paige, 27, and sons Bryce, 23, and Todd, 22.
Goff met the family through the couple’s sons, Bryce and Todd, whom he played football with. When he got into an accident on one of their all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), he got to know the Drummonds better.
“He made too sharp a turn and wound up tipping over the ATV and badly injuring his foot. A skin graft (yikes) and a tendon repair surgery (double yikes) later, he had to stay in bed for more than six weeks to give his foot time to heal,” Drummond wrote in Frontier Follies.
Goff began his college career with the University of Central Oklahoma Broncos in 2021. “Big big day!!” Drummond wrote on Instagram of the announcement of Goff’s college decision.
PEOPLE has reached out to a rep for Drummond and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
