NASHVILLE — Christa Pike was believed to be brain ᴅᴇᴀᴅ and doctors expected to take her off life support the night before she inexplicably woke up and started talking, her lawyer said.
Pike, 50, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after two bungled attempts to execute her at Riverbend Maximum Security Insтιтution in Nashville on Sept. 30.
“On Monday night, it was our understanding that Christa was brain ᴅᴇᴀᴅ and that life support would be removed the next day,” Pike’s attorney, Randy Spivey, told a press conference Wednesday.
