Father Faces the Two Men Convicted in His 5-Year-Old Son’s Death — His Courtroom Words Were Heartbreaking

October 25, 2023. Milwaukee. Prince Rashon McCree was five. He lived in the same house as his mother, his father, his siblings — and two other residents, David Pietura and Erik Mendoza.

Prince went to play in the basement. He did not come home. His body was found the next day in a dumpster about a mile away. Court records and later guilty pleas established that Mendoza, then 15, and Pietura, then in his late 20s, killed the child.

Prosecutors said he was choked and beaten. The body was hidden. Both men lived under the same roof as that little boy.

Pietura pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide. In July 2024 a Milwaukee judge gave him life without parole.

Mendoza pleaded guilty in February 2026 to first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and related counts. On June 5, 2026, he was sentenced to life in prison, with no peтιтion for release for 50 years.
